| Problem #31: | Early 2000 Chief. After I have been riding for a while the engine dies. I found wiggling the petcock and putting it on reserve allows it to start right back up. Sometimes during the same ride it will die, or maybe not. I changed the fuel, added carb cleaner and found my tank vent is plugged under tank. Also the bike will die and as I am coasting in gear and pumping the throttle, it will backfire through the exhaust and take off. My wife is scared to death! |
| Possible Solution: | Carb rebuild? |

| Problem #32: | 2000 Chief will die about a mile down the road. Takes while for it to restart. I'm able to get it home. Idels fine. Seams like it's an electrical issue. |
| Possible Solution: | Bad battery? |
